This Ontario provincial park with a massive waterfall just got a dreamy new skating loop

Lace up! There’s a brand new place to go for skating adventures in Ontario and it’s a winter paradise. This provincial park just got a new ice loop where you can glide the day away.

Kakabeka Falls Provincial Park is known for its stunning waterfall views, and now it has a new attraction to experience.

The recently-opened skating loop features a 160-metre ice trail complete with lights so you can enjoy the attraction at night.

In order to enjoy the skating trail, you’ll need to book a vehicle permit. The permits are available for 2 hour, 4 hour or full-day time slots and can be purchased onsite or online.

While you’re at the park, you’ll want to enjoy some of the other winter experiences it offers.

Kakabeka Falls, the second-highest waterfall in Ontario, is a stunning natural wonder to visit during the winter. Dubbed the « Niagara of the North, » the massive cascade stands at 40 metres high and can be viewed from platforms along the Boardwalk Trail.

When the temperature drops, the falls freeze over, transforming into a majestic scene that’s straight out of Frozen.

You can also ski past beautiful river views on the River Terrace Trail, or snowshoe by the falls and gorge on the Mountain Portage Trail.

If you’re looking for a winter adventure, Kakabeka Falls Provincial Park is a stunning snowy destination with skating, waterfall views and more.
