One of the world's best train rides is in Canada and experiencing it just got way cheaper

Grab your great Canadian bucket list, travellers—it’s time to add a new must-do experience! One of the most breathtaking train journeys in the world is right here in Canada, and for a limited time, booking it just got more affordable.

Luxury train operator Rocky Mountaineer runs three routes through Western Canada’s Rocky Mountains, offering a front-row seat to some of the most breathtaking landscapes in North America. With unparalleled views of glacier-fed lakes, towering peaks, and untouched wilderness, it’s not hard to see why these train adventures are so popular.

The scenery alone has earned these rail journeys global recognition. Most recently, Rocky Mountaineer’s routes were named among Condé Nast Traveller’s top 10 best train trips worldwide. In 2023, Travel + Leisure named Rocky Mountaineer the best train in the world.

For those dreaming about taking a bucket-list train trip, now might be the perfect time to book. Rocky Mountaineer is offering a limited-time deal on select 2025 packages, with savings of up to $1,500 CAD per couple, making it more affordable to experience one of these iconic rail adventures.

The company offers four different routes, three of which travel through Western Canada on the iconic Rocky Mountaineer train. The First Passage to the West is the only route that takes passengers to Banff and Lake Louise, passing through landmarks like Spiral Tunnels, Hell’s Gate, and Castle Mountain.

The Journey Through the Clouds travels from Vancouver to Jasper, with highlights including Mount Robson, Pyramid Falls, and Jaws of Death Gorge.

The Rainforest to Gold Rush route is a trip from Vancouver to Jasper via Whistler and Quesnel, winding through the Cariboo Gold Rush region and past sights like Deep Creek Bridge and the Painted Chasm.

For those looking to explore beyond Canada, the Rockies to the Red Rocks route offers a completely different landscape, taking travellers through the dramatic red rock formations of Moab, Glenwood Springs, and Denver.

The train itself is part of the experience. Unlike commuter rail travel, this is all about slowing down and soaking up the panoramic views. With floor-to-ceiling windows in the GoldLeaf Service cars, an open-air viewing platform, and regionally inspired meals served onboard, each trip is designed for comfort and scenery. Wildlife sightings are common, and it’s not unusual to spot bears, elk, or bald eagles along the way.

Right now, Rocky Mountaineer’s « Explore in 2025 » deal includes savings of up to $750 per person when booking GoldLeaf Service or $525 per person for SilverLeaf Service on Canadian routes. The maximum discount for a return journey is $1,500 per couple.

The offer applies to new bookings for 2025 packages on select dates, excluding two- or three-day rail-only journeys, and is available until February 6, 2025.
