This small city is a road trip from Vancouver and locals say it feels like a visit to Europe

This dreamy place with rolling vineyards, lake views, and mountains is just a four-hour drive from Vancouver, but will transport you to Italy.

Locals shouted this spot out as a place in B.C. that makes you feel like you’re in Europe, on the Narcity Facebook Page. With the idyllic vineyards overlooking the expansive lake, it’s not hard to see the Lake Como comparison.

It might not be exactly the Italian vacation you’re dreaming of, but Kelowna the next best thing if you don’t want to buy a plane ticket.

It’s the main city in the famous Okanagan Valley — a summer destination with beach vibes, warm weather and endlessly scenic views. The area is known for it’s dry landscape, with stunning vineyards scattered around.

Right in Kelowna there are incredible wineries, like Mission Hill Family Estate Winery, where you can enjoy the local flavours along with the scenery.

It looks like a modern castle, making you feel like you’re in a fairytale while roaming around.

All around the region though there are incredible vineyards, and you can tour around them, using Kelowna as your base.

Okanagan Lake is the other biig draw here. You can spend your summer out on the lake, floating around or heading out on a boat.

You can take your pick of beaches along the lakeshore, with lots of beautiful public parks to choose from.

Then there’s the hiking, local farmers market, restaurants, cafes, U-Pick farms, and tours to do here. It’s a summer destination through and through, and people love this spot for good reason.
