New spring forecasts just revealed which parts of the country will have spring weather right away and which parts will still have to deal with winter.

Canada’s weather during the season is expected to be all over the place so get ready!

Both the Old Farmer’s Almanac and Farmers’ Almanac have released Canada’s 2025 spring forecasts.

According to the Old Farmer’s Almanac, the spring season will be quite different across the country.

Spring will start slow as « wintry conditions » linger across Ontario, Quebec and the Maritimes, according to the Farmers’ Almanac.

That includes « an unusually late winter storm » at the beginning of April. Temperatures are expected to be a bit cool even into June.

So, here’s what weather is forecast for each province and territory this spring.

BC

B.C. will enjoy warmer-than-normal temperatures in April but slightly below temperatures in May, according to Old Farmer’s Almanac.

Also, the province is expected to get « well above normal » precipitation in the spring with ongoing rainy periods.

Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba

April and May will be warmer than normal for Alberta, Saskatchewan and most of Manitoba. Parts of Manitoba along Hudson Bay are expected to be cooler.

There will be more precipitation than normal in Alberta and Saskatchewan but less precipitation than normal in Manitoba.

The Old Farmer’s Almanac has forecast that you should expect a little snow in early April and thunderstorms in May.

Ontario

Ontario’s spring forecast is all over the place, according to The Old Farmer’s Almanac.

Weather will be warmer and drier in the north near Lake Superior but cooler and drier near Hudson Bay.

Also, near-normal temperatures and wetter-than-normal conditions are expected in southern Ontario.

You should expect April to start with some rain and snow in the west and then heavy snow in the north!

Quebec

The Old Farmer’s Almanac has forecast that temperatures will be below normal in most of southern Quebec, with precipitation above normal in the east and below normal in the west.

Central and northern parts of Quebec will be wetter and warmer than normal this spring season.

Rain and snow are expected in early April but that will turn into just rain later in the month and continue into May.

New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, PEI, and Newfoundland

April and May will be cooler than normal in Newfoundland but seasonable in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and P.E.I.

Some rainstorms are expected but there are no signs of significant snowfall, according to The Old Farmer’s Almanac.

New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and P.E.I. are expected to be drier than normal while Newfoundland will get above-normal precipitation.

Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut

Spring will bring warmer-than-normal temperatures and wet conditions for Yukon and southern parts of the Northwest Territories.

Northern parts of the Northwest Territories and Nunavut will mostly be cool and wet during the season.
