Kathleen Edwards Announces First Montreal Show in Over a Decade

Kathleen Edwards in Ottawa – 2019

Kathleen Edwards, one of Canada’s most celebrated singer-songwriters, is set to hit the road this spring for a series of North American tour dates, including two Canadian stops in Montreal and Toronto.

The tour begins on April 1 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and winds its way through a mix of U.S. and Canadian cities. Edwards is slated to perform at Montreal’s intimate La Sala Rossa on April 9 before wrapping up her Canadian appearances at Toronto’s Danforth Music Hall on April 11. The Montreal venue, known for its warm acoustics and close-knit atmosphere, is a fitting setting for Edwards’ emotionally resonant performances.

Tickets for the tour will be available for purchase starting Friday, January 31, at 10 a.m. Eastern Time.

Edwards, who hails from Ottawa, has been a defining voice in Canadian music since the release of her debut album, Failer, in 2003. Her blend of alt-country and indie rock gained widespread acclaim, leading to multiple Juno Award nominations and an international following. Over the years, she has released four studio albums, including Voyageur (2012), which debuted at No. 1 on the Canadian Albums Chart. After stepping back from the music industry for a period to focus on her Ottawa coffee shop, Quitters, Edwards made a triumphant return in 2020 with Total Freedom, an album praised for its raw honesty and maturity.
